Kernel CodeSigning Certificate
Part of our work involves developing Kernel Drivers for Microsoft Windows. With the move to x64 Microsoft requests all Kernel Drivers to be signed.
Time to get a certificate for that as well because only Microsoft approved CAs are valid for signing kernel code.
So
this is the new certificate...
New CodeSigning Certificate
Since 2007 I have been signing all the executables and resources if possible. Back then I voted for
Thawte as my trustworthy verifier for my code - spending a 300USD per year...
When our company moved Thawte only gave my the choice to buy a whole new certificate - no way to "upgrade" or re-issue or just update their records, hence I was not too pleased as you can imagine.
Apart from that their certificates cannot be used for Java and Authenticode together - you really have to buy separate certificates! Argh!
Looking around I found that Starfield - known under the name
GoDaddy - offers "the same" for only 150USD per year. And yet they are listed in all the major OS and browsers.
You only have to make sure you choose to choose "Starfield" instead of "GoDaddy" as the root CA when applying for a certificate. -
So last week I got
the new cert and here it is...

I have not been updating this site for quite some time so I decided it would be the time again to do so... Therefore I moved the site from my previous provider to some other place. One of you guys found out that the downloads were actually not transferred so I corrected that. While doing this I decided to sign all the binaries so you know they have not been modified otherwise. Trustworthy, isn't it...
